A mock viva is a practice viva — a full, realistic run-through of your defense before the real one. I take the examiner’s chair and question you the way a real examiner would: about your methodology, your choices, your conclusions, and the gaps you hope nobody notices. (I notice them. Kindly.)
How the 45-minute session works
The session has three parts. First, about 25 minutes of questions, run exactly like a real viva — no pauses, no hints, no rescuing you mid-sentence. This is deliberate. The second time you sit in that chair, your body already knows the feeling. Then we spend 15 minutes on feedback: your answers, yes, but also your voice, your pace, and how confident you sound. Most students are shocked by this part. One Masters student discovered she was ending every sentence on a rising note, as if asking permission — we fixed it in a week. Finally, you get a personal action plan: two or three specific things to work on before the real day, written down, in order of priority.
Who it is for
PhD candidates, Masters students, and anyone with a defense, viva, or final project presentation coming up. It does not matter whether your viva is in three weeks or three months — though I will be honest: the earlier we start, the more we can fix. I have run mock vivas over video call for students in three countries, and the format works just as well as sitting across a table.
Book your session
To book, message me on WhatsApp. Tell me your name, your degree level, and when your viva is. I will reply with available times — usually within a day. There are no prices on this page and no payment links; we sort out the practical details together on chat, with zero pressure./
